8.4. This permission does not prevent the entrant from using, publishing or licensing the photograph or video elsewhere.
8.5. DCC will, where reasonably practical, credit the entrant when publishing the submitted content.
8.6. DCC is not obliged to publish every entry and may remove previously published content where reasonably necessary.
8.7. Apart from the advertised competition prize, entrants will not receive payment, royalties or other compensation for DCC’s permitted use of their entries.

11.10. If any part of the advertised prize becomes unavailable for reasons beyond DCC’s reasonable control, DCC may provide a reasonable alternative of a similar value, subject to applicable law.
12. Personal Information
12.1. DCC will use entrants’ personal information to administer the competition, verify entries, communicate with participants and announce the winner.
12.2. The winner’s name, country or town, winning entry and entry description may be published for competition and publicity purposes.
12.3. Personal information will be processed in accordance with applicable South African privacy legislation.
12.4. Entering the competition does not automatically subscribe an entrant to unrelated marketing communications. Any separate marketing consent must be obtained independently.
13. Disqualification

Provides false or misleading information;
Submits stolen, copied or artificially misrepresented material;
Uses automated, fraudulent or improper methods to enter;

Engages in conduct that could reasonably bring the competition, DCC Hotel Group or a participating property into disrepute.
13.2. DCC may request reasonable evidence to verify the authenticity of any entry.
13.3. Photographs or videos principally created using artificial intelligence are not permitted. Ordinary adjustments such as cropping, colour correction and exposure correction are allowed, provided they do not materially misrepresent the original scene.
14. Liability
14.1. Entrants participate voluntarily and at their own risk.
14.2. To the extent permitted by law, DCC Hotel Group and the participating prize properties will not be liable for:
Lost, delayed, corrupted or unsuccessful entries;
Technical failures affecting submission or communication;
Losses resulting from inaccurate information supplied by an entrant;
Travel expenses or other costs not expressly included in the prize;
Inability to travel because of visa, passport, health or personal circumstances; or
Events outside their reasonable control.
14.3. Nothing in these Terms and Conditions excludes or limits any right or protection that cannot lawfully be excluded under South African law.
15. Changes, Suspension or Cancellation
15.1. DCC may reasonably amend, suspend, postpone or cancel the competition where fraud, technical failure, legal requirements or circumstances beyond its reasonable control make this necessary.
15.2. Any material change will be communicated through the channels used to advertise the competition.
15.3. Changes will not unfairly remove rights already acquired by an entrant or winner, except where required by law or circumstances genuinely beyond DCC’s control.
16. General
16.1. If any provision of these Terms and Conditions is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to apply.
16.2. A failure by DCC to enforce any provision does not constitute a waiver of that provision.
16.3. These Terms and Conditions, the competition advertisement and the published prize information must be read together.
16.4. Where promotional wording conflicts with these Terms and Conditions, these Terms and Conditions will apply, subject to applicable consumer-protection legislation.
