The true allure of Leopard Tree Lodge lies in its surrounding nature. Bird-watching opportunities abound, allowing guests to observe some of St Lucia's most stunning avian species. The lodge's prime location near top attractions, such as iSimangaliso Wetland Park, grants visitors the chance to explore the region’s natural beauty with ease.

The lodge is named after the largest and oldest Leopard Tree in St Lucia, located at its entrance. Leapard Tree Lodge is one of the few accommodation establishments in St Lucia positioned on the edge of the forest and greenbelt area, the lodge offers unique wildlife encounters. Featuring ten modern and spacious apartments, each individually decorated, the lodge accommodates up to 34 guests. Every apartment includes an undercover balcony or patio seating area, a private entrance, a fully equipped kitchen, air conditioning with fans, free Wi-Fi, a flat-screen Smart TV with DSTV, a wall-mounted safe, emergency lights, a hairdryer, and secure private parking for one vehicle per apartment.

A communal braai area, located next to the pool and bordering the forest, provides a relaxing outdoor space. The elevated pool and terrace area are accessible via stairs. The lodge is equipped with a 54 KVA diesel generator and a borehole, ensuring reliable water and power supply. Additionally, a newly installed solar power system provides essential services such as water, lighting, Wi-Fi, TV, fans, and security during quiet hours (22:00 to 07:00) when the generator is not permitted to operate due to town bylaws. During power failures or load shedding between 07:00 and 22:00, the generator supplies power to the lodge and its guests.

St Lucia offers a variety of tours and activities that guests can experience in and around the town. Activities such as day and night game drives to three game reserves (Eastern Shores, Western Shores, and Hluhluwe/Imfolozi), whale watching, turtle breeding tours, snorkeling at Cape Vidal, hiking, horse riding, boat cruises on the Estuary, deep-sea fishing, cultural tours, birding, and visits to the crocodile center can all be arranged and booked through Leopard Tree Lodge’s reception.

St Lucia is particularly renowned for its hippos roaming the town's streets at night. A few of the hundreds inhabiting the St Lucia Estuary leave the water in the evening to graze on the town’s sidewalks before returning at dawn. Guests frequently encounter these hippos while driving at night, or they may spot them passing through the forest area adjacent to the lodge while relaxing at the communal braai area or terrace.
