Skeiding is a working farm located near Heidelberg in the Western Cape, perfectly situated halfway between Cape Town and Knysna along the N2. This homely family farm is a favorite among both locals and tourists, making it an ideal stopover on journeys to or from the Garden Route. However, many guests find themselves wanting to extend their stay for an extra night or three!

With panoramic views of the Langeberg Mountains, Skeiding offers a sense of innate tranquility, old-world charm, and warm hospitality—making it perfect for a rejuvenating weekend getaway. Your hosts, Neels and Anné-Lize, are energetic individuals who embody the spirit of farm life, balancing the demands of running a farm, family, and guest accommodations.

Accommodation Options

Skeiding Guesthouse serves as your home away from home, featuring a traditional farmhouse atmosphere that makes you feel like part of the family. The guesthouse includes six comfortable bedrooms, each with en-suite bathrooms. Four of these rooms boast king-sized beds, and four have cozy working fireplaces. Additionally, the farm offers three contemporary farm cottages, all equipped with working fireplaces and stunning views of the picturesque fields and mountain tops. Each room and cottage is thoughtfully decorated and equipped with everything you need to relax, including a tea/coffee station, electric blankets, personal toiletries, percale linen, and complimentary South African Port to enjoy on the patio.

Important Note: Check-out time is generally 11:00 AM, but arrangements for a late check-out can be made with Anné-Lize or one of the managers.

Skeiding's campsite is perfectly distanced from Cape Town, allowing you to escape the hustle and bustle of city life. Nestled along the Langeberg Mountains and surrounded by fynbos and pasture lands, this working farm offers an exclusive camping experience. The campsite is perched high on a hill, providing breathtaking eagle's views. It is completely exclusive and can only be booked by one group of friends or family at a time. Guests can kick back, relax with a good book next to a crackling fire, and enjoy the peaceful sounds of silence and birdsong for a truly soul-enriching camping experience that reconnects you with nature.
